What would you highlight about North Stay Sapporo Kita

Peaceful And Good Value, But No Staff Were Present

The accommodation was in a peaceful and safe neighbourhood about 3 miles north west of the city centre. The room was sufficiently large with a comfortable bed, plus all the mod cons necessary: a fan, TV, fridge, microwave, kettle, sink and cooking utensils. The door had an automatic lock and did not require a key, which was original and convenient. There was a nice little common room on the ground floor.

When I arrived, the hotel was like the Marie Celeste - very quiet with no staff around! It seems that the staff did not wish to meet the guests due to the coronavirus pandemic, so all door codes were given beforehand and the payment was made electronically. Perhaps this is always the case, as some Japanese hotels are like this, but I am old-fashioned and prefer to be welcomed to a hotel by its staff at the reception desk. Suppose I had some questions to ask or problems to solve...? There wasn't much in the surrounding area, just a few convenience stores.

The private room and dining rooms are clean and neat. You can cook if it's not too elaborate.

In height of summer, It is humid and there is no air conditioning. So it is hard to sleep. There’s no knife.

You have to pay for hot water 100jpy per 10 mins, however room is comfortable

The staff were so so friendly we had someone waiting for us and was able to show us around the facilities which was great. The room's were amazing and very comfortable to stay in with lots of space.

There are no elevators and we were staying on the third floor which meant we needed to carry our heavy luggage up and down- this was quite a struggle. You also have to pay for hot water when you have a shower, 100 jpy per 10 minutes. I don't believe paying for hot water was mentioned anywhere on booking.com and was not mentioned by the staff member either. There was a females only room on our floor however my partner had to walk down three flights of stairs to the ground floor each time he wnated to shower. If I had known this earlier not sure If i would have stayed here.

Good

It was near the train station so it was easy to get to the center of Sapporo.

The amount of money you paid for the room was a bit too high for what you got. For example the showers were coin operated (100¥/10min). Bad smell in the entrance and ground floor.

Overall is good. Not for short stay

The room was very nice, clean and big enough for one person. It comes provided with fridge (which is perfect), a sink, a kettle, a TV (in case you need). Very comfortable!

In my opinion, this is a good choice if you plan to stay for a while, I don't think it is for a short stay (1-3 nights). Although it takes only 20 minutes to Susukino st. by train with one change, you might find it a little far and a little pricy (Shinkawa St.-Susukino St. 410¥ with SUICA card, one way!) if you stay only for a couple of days. Last train in Sapporo is quite early. This is kind of my fault actually, I didn't check well the distance. Apart from that, it's a good, cheap and clean solution.

Not coming back until there’s at least one in building staff.

Clean always and stylish rooms.

No air conditioning. Since switching to digital only check in aka no staff ever in the building, I waited over 30 minutes for someone to pick up the digital call. I couldn’t even wait inside the building because it locks and you can only get the password from the staff so I was at the mercy of the summer heat. There should always be staff available to check customers in no matter what.

I would rather sleep in my car.

Room smelled like someone had just smoked hash and about four packs of cigarettes. There are no non-smoking rooms, but it was like this one hadn't even bothered to open a window. Hash is also very illegal in Japan. Bio said no parking but assumed there would at least be a paid lot within 30 minutes walk... no parking at all. You check in via tablet (no representatives at the property) and they couldn't get ahold of their manager to sort things out. Ended up getting a refund a week later after sleeping on the floor of a different room with 50% less smoke. Not about the property, but was also greeted by a male guest, naked from the waist down, THREE TIMES.

Great work trip accommodation or long term stay option!

They had a garment freshener (not sure if it was cause I was on a work trip) but that saved my life. The apartment had a tiny kitchen and pots and pans to cook! Crockery if not found can be borrowed from the living room(s). Cooking really helped as food is much more expensive eating out compared to cooking at home. The place is also really clean and shoes are to be kept in the main entrance in specific personal cupboards! This place is also mostly keyless. Passcode locks are the best as I had work while my mother could go shopping and we didn't have to worry about coordinating getting home together. The shower/bathrooms were separate from the apartment but the ladies bathroom was so comfortable I felt at home. They had bathmats for each individual user and you go through a room with a washing and drying machine to get to the bathroom. There's also an iron, which means all your getting ready and outfitting yourself can be done there. There is a file with excellent instructions including use of the hot water tap in the room. Hope you'll find the place as amazing as we did!

The showers were coin-operated pay-per-use and they lacked a proper mirror in the ladies. You can however find a change machine which dispenses 100 yen coins when you feed it a 1000 yen note.
